In a session: what to expect

Picture
My sessons last around 55-minutes and are held at the BodyMind Medicine Centre in Bond Street or at my clinic near Notting Hill Gate. I endeavour to provide a supportive and non-judgemental environment which, above all,  feels safe. I  also aim to enter each session with attentiveness and presence. In my experience, these qualities allow people to feel met with whatever arises.

I have facilitated sessions that have covered a wide variety of life-issues and events. There are occasions where I consider the material that arises to be better handled by other professionals. In these cases I will refer clients on.
New to therapy?
Most people end up sharing highly personal and intimate information with their therapist. For that reason it is vitally important to feel safe, supported and clear that whatever you disclose remains confidential.

You need to trust and respect the person you see. Often the best way of finding this out is by having a couple of sessions and seeing how you feel. You’ll then be able to gauge how helpful that person might be for you.

To ensure professional standards, read the Mental Health Foundation’s guidelines as to what you can expect from a trained therapist. (http://www.mentalhealth.org.uk/information/mental-health-a-z/talking-therapies/what-makes-a-good-therapist/).
