SE Trauma Therapy is based on Somatic Experiencing (SE), a widely respected body-mind approach to healing trauma, stress and anxiety. Developed by Peter A Levine (Phd), it is based on over 40-years of scientific research into how our body's autonomic nervous system mobilizes in response to threat or an overwhelming situation.

Combining psychotherapy skills, bodily awareness and movement, it can produce immediate and lasting improvements to emotional wellbeing.

This wonderfully effective technique is probably the only approach to date that effectively addresses both the mental and physical symptoms of overwhelm, emotional difficulties, PTSD and stress-related disorders.

SE Trauma Therapy can be applied to almost any issue and is useful as an addition to psychotherapy or on its own. Clients are often surprised at the insight, resolution and relief they experience, often after a single session.

SE Trauma Therapy: how it can help you

If you freeze, panic or react unconsciously in an everyday situation, no amount of intellectual understanding can get you out of it. SE Trauma Therapy accesses memories held in the body and nervous system that cause these difficulties and helps to resolve them. In this way, it changes behaviour in the present - powerfully and effectively.

By bringing about greater neurological and emotional integration, clients experience fast and effective relief from symptoms such as insomnia, anxiety, physical tension and overwhelming emotions. They frequently report feeling more optimistic, true to themselves, emotionally balanced and joyful.

SE Trauma Therapy can help you if you suffer from:

Mind: Anxiety & stress, fear, phobias, PTSD, addictive patterns & compulsive behaviour, self-esteem issues, emotional integration after accidents and threatening events.
Body: Muscular pain, chronic fatigue, digestive disorders, eczema & psoriasis caused by stress, psychosomatic illness or pains with no clear physical cause.
Emotions: Intimacy & relationship issues, anxiety related disorders, fear, outbursts of anger, self-esteem issues, negative thinking, overwhelming emotions, post traumatic stress.
Trauma: Childhood and relationship trauma, acute stress syndrome, sexual trauma, birth trauma, trauma after accidents, trauma caused by life-threatening events, war trauma, PTSD.
Other: Racing heart, palpitations, breathing problems, always being on 'red alert,' you feel overwhelmed, panic attacks and unexplained fear, flash backs, intrusive thoughts or images, tearfulness, difficulty engaging socially, inability to cope, sleeplessness, waking exhausted, nightmares, mental or emotional exhaustion, feeling 'stuck' or caught in emotional loops, its hard to make decisions.
